The JoongAng Daily has appointed Lho Cholsoo, the newspaper’s current executive advisor, as its publisher effective today.

After graduating from Stanford University in the United States, Lho received an MBA degree from the Yale University School of Management and a doctorate in political economics from the University of Oxford in the U.K.

Lho has worked for various international organizations, including the World Trade Organization and the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

Starting in 2003 and continuing until recently, Lho served as the director for the Center for Global Cooperation at the Samsung Economic Research Institute. He was also the founding editor of SERI Quarterly, the institute’s major English publication.
