The IHT-JoongAng Daily and Samsung Economic Research Institute will co-host the 2008 Korean Economic Forum at Seoul Plaza Hotel at 7 a.m. on Friday.

The annual forum is focused on improving understanding of the Korean economy among foreign diplomats, news correspondents and chief executives of overseas companies operating in Korea.

Jun Kwang-woo, chairman of the Financial Services Commission, will give a keynote speech on “The Evolving Financial Landscape and Korea’s Financial Policy and Supervision.”

Economists from Samsung Economic Research Institute will then make presentations and hold discussions about Korea’s current economic and security conditions and the outlook for the economy in the second half. English will be used throughout the event. Details of the presentations and discussions will run later in the JoongAng Daily. Attendance is by invitation only.
