The IHT-JoongAng Daily will host the Korea International Model Congress 2007, a venue for students to practice their debating skills, on Oct. 28 at the Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Around 120 students from six high schools ― five foreign language high schools and the Korean Minjok Leadership Academy ― will participate in the competition. The students will debate issues of climate change, corruption, intellectual property and other topics drawn from the World Economic Forum, G8 Summit and United States Congress. The event is open to the general public. JoongAng Ilbo Premium and the Korea Model Congress Association will co-organize the event.
The Australian Embassy, U.S. Embassy, Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies, Korean Minjok Leadership Academy and Cheongshim International Academy are sponsors of the model congress.
